FAQ

Hitting with a wood bat is essential to the growth and development of young players. Wood bats have a much smaller sweet spot than metal bats. This gives the hitter instant feedback on contact placement as hits outside of this zone will vibrate the bat more. The weight distribution of wood bats allow you to swing heavier and gain swing strength. The hand strength and coordination gained through training with a wood bat will ensure a proper bat path and faster swing speeds.

Absolutely! You generally hear, “Hold the bat with the label up.” What’s important here is that you’re holding bat with the label up during contact. At contact, your top hand should be facing palm up, so the label should agree with that. This will ensure Ash is contacted on the edge grain, while Maple and Birch are contacted on the face grain.

No. however, the USA Baseball standard does not require a stamp on wood bats. Any league following USA Baseball standards will find these wood bats to be acceptable for use. USSSA standard requires all manufacturers to be approved. It is not in the financial interest of MS Bats to seek this certification.
