Game Ready Bats
Every MS Bat is made with hand-crafted precision. You won’t find them on a store shelf because off-the-shelf bats aren’t made for you. We build your bat from the ground up to meet your exact needs and style. Just choose from the following attributes, and if you don’t see what you want, we can always add it.
Profiles

When choosing a bat, there are many factors to consider. First should be how it swings. At MS Bats we concentrate on a few of the most popular profiles. The above graphic denotes the center of gravity between profiles. All other factors being controlled, the COG can give a good indication of how easily the bat will swing; closer to the hands will make the bat easier to control.
Knobs

Comfort during your swing can’t be overlooked. Your bottom hand needs to be one with the knob. Don’t get stuck with the knob and profile pairing of other brands. At MS Bats you choose your favorite knob to match with the profile of your choice. Maybe you can’t shake the no-flare feel of a metal bat or you might like the Roberto Clemente no-knob flare. Puck knobs have also gained traction recently as they help move more weight closer to the hands, resulting in an easier to swing bat. All knobs are 2″ diameter.
Drop Weight

Having the right weight for your bat is crucial to your success. Even youth players that typically swing light metal bats can benefit from swinging a heavier wood bat. MS Bats recommends a drop 5-7 for youth players and a drop 2-3, once the voice starts changing.
Wood

Wood species can sometimes feel like a Ford/Chevy debate; there’s a significant difference and it usually comes down to preference. Ash, once the king of bats, has quite a bit of flexibility. This can be good for slower swing speeds and more forgiving on miss-hits. Unfortunately, Ash is getting harder to find. Maple now sits on the throne of popularity. It’s very prevalent and has great density. It is very stiff compared to ash and transfers energy into the ball well. Birch is a fantastic option that bridges the gap. Close grained like maple with moderate stiffness, yet still retains some flexibility similar to Ash. Birch is starting to gain traction in the big leagues. MS Bats uses Grade A lumber sourced in Maine where the colder climate yields stronger wood.
Design

Artistic design is what separates MS Bats from others. You choose how you want your bat to look. From a simple cage bat to the loudest drip you’ll want all your friends to see. Pick something out of our gallery, tweak it to your liking or let us come up with something fresh for you; the possibilities are endless.
